ATTENDING A SHOW!

If you have never been to a live stand-up comedy show, or it's been a long time since your last show, here are some tips to help everyone enjoy the show.

The Ten Commandments of Comedy Show Audience Etiquette

1.  THOU SHALT LAUGH AND ENJOY THYSELF AT OUR SHOWS!

2.  Thou shalt please turn off or set to vibrate all cell phones and pagers.  Please step outside to take or make any calls necessary during the show.

3.  Thou shalt not take any photographs or video recordings of the comedians.  Many comics sell their CD's and DVD's after the show or have websites with audio and video clips for your viewing pleasure.

4.  Thou shalt try not to leave during the middle of the show, but we recognize emergencies happen.  Please slip out discreetly or in between comic sets or during intermission.

5.  THOU SHALT LAUGH AND ENJOY THYSELF AT OUR SHOWS!

6.  Thou shalt try to please unwrap all gum, candy, cough drops, medications, bandages, hearing aid batteries, cigarette packs, CD's, DVD's, birthday presents and incoming mail and try to rifle through purses, briefcases, backpacks and shopping bags for note pads and earplugs before the show, at intermission, or in between the comics' sets.  Crinkling and rifling noises are distracting to your fellow audience members and comics.  Plus, they might want you to share your stash with them.

7.  Thou shalt try to please not talk or chat to yourself or to your neighbor during a comic's set.  The pre-announcements start the show, please stop talking during this point.  Resume at intermission or after the show.  If you need to get something off your chest during the show, please step outside.

8.  Thou shalt please refrain from commenting out loud when the comics are on stage.  Even positive comments unexpectedly blurted aloud from audience members can disrupt a comic's rhythm, throw off their timing and interrupt the show for everyone.

9.  Thou shalt please only throw money when compelled to throw items at the comics.

10.  THOU SHALT LAUGH AND ENJOY THYSELF AT OUR SHOWS!
